Vienna-based multidisciplinary artist Sofie Royer has released a new single titled “Indoor Sport,” which will feature on her upcoming third album, Young-Girl Forever, slated for release on November 15th via Stones Throw.
The track playfully examines interpersonal relationships, likening them to an age-old game. In the music video, co-directed by Sofie and Grégoire Léon-Dufour, scenes are inspired by some of her favorite cinematic moments, such as Bertolucci’s The Dreamers and Jim Jarmusch’s Mystery Train.
The visuals reflect the duality between love and sport, with Sofie moving from moments of affection to physically wrestling with her lover, highlighting the playful tension in romantic relationships.
