As Halloween music festivals popped up across the country, Seattle’s WaMu Theater transformed into a spooky playground for PNW ravers. Now in its fourth year at this venue, Boo Seattle made subtle improvements to its layout, enhancing flow with additional staircases and restrooms. The main stage, aptly named the Dark Forest, was decked out with wraparound screens and lights reminiscent of EDC’s Circuit Grounds, setting the tone for a star-studded lineup. Day one featured powerhouse sets from Chris Lorenzo, Deorro, and Kaskade, leading up to an epic close by Slander. Day two took things even higher with performances from Lost Frequencies, Crankdat, Afrojack, and Rezz, culminating in a jaw-dropping set from Illenium.
Just a short walk from the Dark Forest, the Den of Darkness catered to bass enthusiasts, featuring a range of styles from melodic acts like MiTiS and Ray Volpe to heavier, intense sets from Marauda, Hol!, and Zomboy. British rising stars Hamdi and Hedex made their mark on day one, delivering back-to-back sets that were among the weekend’s highlights. Meanwhile, the Lighthouse stage offered an escape from the darkness, with house vibes led by Odd Mob, Mark Knight, and Biscits.
Adding to the Boo Seattle experience was the hidden gem of the silent disco, tucked away near the vendor village through a web-lined path. Here, fans enjoyed a break from the crowd, dancing to their own beats in a more intimate setting. And for those needing to recharge, a cozy lounge area complete with bean bags and candy provided a perfect spot to relax between sets.
Boo Seattle 2024 blended unforgettable music, eerie ambiance, and thoughtful amenities, giving festival-goers a Halloween weekend to remember and setting the bar high for next year’s spooky celebration.
